In February, we set sail on the Symphony of the Seas. It’s one of the huge Oasis class ships. We sailed in a Central Park Balcony. This is a cabin with a balcony, but the balcony faces the inside of the ship.
What did I think? The first 24 hours I hated it. We had to keep our curtains most of the time to have any privacy. I couldn’t see the ocean. It felt like an interior cabin. But by the end of the cruise, it had grown on me a bit.
One pro was that it really nice for my husband to have a place outside the cabin to sit.
Another pro is a guaranteed seat for the music each evening. One evening, we wanted to listen to the music in Central Park, but it was packed. We grabbed a glass of wine and sat on the balcony. We ended up sitting on the balcony more on this cruise than most cruises.
Would I book it again? Probably not. The lack of privacy and being able to see into other people’s rooms wasn’t great. I’m glad we tried it. It is better than an interior, but I think I’d prefer an ocean view cabin with a window. What do you think? Would you book a Central Park balcony?
What about the ship? We really enjoyed the ship. I loved the Hairspray musical and aqua theater show. The crew was so much fun. The food was good. I’d definitely sail the Symphony of the Seas again. Join me on a walkthrough ship tour of the Symphony of the Seas.
