Grand Turk is a popular cruise port on Caribbean itineraries.
The Grand Turk Cruise Center is located right at the end of the pier. In this video, I give you a tour of the Grand Turk Cruise Center and the beach area right by the pier.
This complex has shops, two restaurants, an ice cream shop, a pool, a flow rider, and a beach area. The pool and beach area are free for cruise passengers to enjoy.
You can rent beach chairs, floats, and snorkeling equipment at the Beach Rental Hut.
In 1962 , John Glenn splash landed off the west coast shores of the Grand Turk in the Friendship 7 Mercury Space craft. They have a small area commemorating the Splash Down.
For a quiet beach day, head to the Beached Whale area to the right of the pier as you are facing the island. The swimming isn’t as nice, but it’s generally less busy.
For more action, head to Margaritaville pool. The DJ offers free shots if you buy a souvenir mug and keeps the tunes pumping. You can also buy tickets to the Flow Rider surfing simulator.
My favorite thing to do is to walk down the beach to Jack’s Shack for some great jerk chicken and local beers.
Have you been to Grand Turk? What’s your favorite thing to do there?
