Hello!!
In December 2024, we headed to southwest Asia for an epic adventure visiting seven countries and Hong Kong. Our first cruise was the Celebrity Millennium from Singapore to Bali, Indonesia. If you are curious of how we spent our pre-cruise stay in Singapore, check out this video:
We spent 12 nights on the Celebrity Millennium. Here’s what I thought:
Cabin: 8
I like the design of these cabins. It was very comfortable. We had plenty of storage space, but I think others may struggle a bit on a longer cruise. The shower tile was old and stained. I wish there were outlets next to both beds. The air conditioning worked well. The balcony is great.
Overall Ship Condition: 9
The ship recently underwent a dry dock and it shows. The carpets and furniture seem to be new or refreshed. We didn't notice a lot of rust or wear or tear except for around the pools.
Casual Dining: 7
The options for casual dining are the buffet, pizza, spa cafe or the grill. I think that's just too limited. The buffet had several made to order stations: stir fry, pasta, and noodle soup. Each day had carved meats and a large Asian section with a soup or noodle bowl. The seafood extravaganza with lobster and shrimp was great. My biggest complaint about Celebrity's casual dining is the Grill. The rest of the food on Celebrity is so good. The grill is similar to what you'd find at a high school football game. The pizza was pretty good, but not as good as Princess.
Sit Down Dining: 7.5
This is a little hard to rate. We had two lunches and a dinner. We ended up eating most dinners in the buffet because the Anytime dining was total chaos to get a table. BUT When we were able to get a table, the food and the service in the dining room was very good and super fast.
Specialty Dining: 9
We tried the Tuscan Grille and Sushi on Five. We had great experiences at both. Definitely worth the upcharge.
Entertainment: 8
The live music was great. We enjoyed the bands, duo, and guitar player. We also really liked the activities in the Sky Lounge. The trivia sessions were very good. I missed the enrichment program. I think the journey could have been improved with some lectures or experts sharing information about the ports.
Service: 9.5
As always, the service was friendly and every crew member was working as hard as they could. We had two issues where we complained about something. The complaints were taken seriously and resolved quicky to our satisfaction.
Value: 8.5
Celebrity does tend to price high in the market. I think the specialty dining prices are a bit high. We ended up upgrading to the Premium drinks package to have more wine options and the Premium Wi-Fi so I could work on my computer.
Overall: 8.3
What do you think? Would you sail the Celebrity Millennium? I would sail it again and recommend it to clients. If you are ready to book your next cruise, I’d love to book it for you! Email Angie@Tripswithangie.com
