Carnival Venezia Ship Tour & Dining Review
In July, we sailed on the Carnival Venezia from New York to the Caribbean and back. The Venezia was originally built as a Costa brand ship to sail in China. It’s very similar to the Carnival Vista, Horizon, and Panorama ships. The biggest difference was the pool deck.
Join me on a cruise ship tour of the Venezia:
Things I loved about the Venezia:
The decoration and design - I loved all the greenery and Italian touches throughout the ship.
Frizzante – This bar was a great addition. The menu specialized in spritzes and espresso martinis.
Terrazzo area – This exclusive area to guests in a Terrazzo cabin was so comfortable.
The food was good to great. I liked the Italian additions to Guy’s Burger Joint and Blue Iguana (called Tomodoro on the Venezia). Here’s my full review of the dining onboard:
Things I didn’t love:
The main pool deck - I have to agree with the reviews. The main pool deck felt very enclosed for Caribbean sailings. I wish Carnival was sailing this ship in Alaska. Then, I loved all the extra scenic lounge space.
The location of the deli in the buffet – This seems like a weird thing to mention, but I love the deli. Carnival squeezed it into the buffet. It’s very awkward to wait in line.
It feels very crowded in most spaces expect Deck 5 Promenade. The buffet, the restaurants, the lounges all felt very crowded throughout the sailing.
