Carnival Panorama Review February 2023

Surprisingly, it ranked slightly higher than the Wonder of the Seas

We sailed on the February 18, 2023 Mexican Riviera sailing of the Carnival Panorama. We departed from Long Beach, California. It was my first time sailing from Long Beach. It’s a pretty port with a nice sail away.

Overall, we had a great cruise. I rate is a 9.25 out of 10. I explain why:

Cabin:  9

We booked a balcony cabin on Deck 9.  The cabin was compact, but made good use of space. I just wish the cabin was a little wider and the shower was a little bigger.

Overall Ship Condition: 9.5

The ship is in very good condition. We didn’t notice a lot of maintenance needs. The crew is constantly cleaning. I deducted ½ point for the deck in the Serenity that gets scalding hot.

Casual Dining: 9.5

I think Carnival does Casual dining the best: Blue Iguana, Guy’s Burgers, Mongolian Wok, Pasta Bar., Deli, Pizza and the buffet. I liked the buffet had two sections with different items and the freshly made gelato was a treat that other cruise lines charge extra for. I deducted ½ point because I miss being able to get food in the Ocean Plaza. It was nice having a place to grab a quick bite on the lower decks.

Sit Down Dining: 9

We had excellent service in the main dining room after we switched tables. The food was some of the best we’ve had on Carnival.

Specialty Dining: N/A

We ate at Ji Ji Asian Kitchen for dinner. It was delicious and I highly recommend it. They did a very good job with a food allergy. We also liked the a Dragon fried and smoked wings at Guy’s Smokehouse. Everyone raved about the Teppanyaki.

Entertainment: 9

Loved the variety of music and activities.  It's a 9 because I don't think the main theater shows are the same production level as the shows we've seen on Royal Caribbean or Norwegian. 

Service: 9.5

Terrific service. The crew was friendly and attentive.  They could have been scheduled a little differently to help with some of the busier bars and restaurants.

Value: 10

Carnival’s decision to be the lowest price point works. It’s a great value.
